About Membership

What are the requirements to become a member of the True Hope Ministry Community?

Membership is open to all Biblical Christians , who …

  • Are active in either formal or informal Biblical Christian Ministry .
  • Who have a growing Biblical Worldview .
  • Have the desire and are willing to be part of a mutually supportive Ministry Community .
  • Realize they have spiritual strengths to share and areas of need for continued development.
  • Have a desire to invest in the spiritual and ministry success of others in ministry.
Why is having a Biblical Worldview so important?

A Biblical Worldview produces unity and trust among our members because ...

  • A Biblical Worldview is a strong indication that the person is being faithful to God’s instruction that we are not to be conformed to this world, but that we are becoming transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1-2).
  • A Biblical Worldview is essential if we are to be faithful in the ministry of Christ to this world … and to those who are God’s people all of whom are called to “come out and be separate …” (2 Corinthians 6)
  • A Biblical Worldview enables us to “have the mind of Christ” concerning the issues of life. (1 Cor. 2:16)

What if I don't have a "strong" Biblical Worldview - can I be a member of THMA?

Membership requires that one has at least a "moderate" Biblical Worldview ... each of us are at different levels and stages of spiritual growth with some having a stronger Biblical Worldview than others.

We are glad to help others grow in spiritual maturity and to develop a strong Biblical worldview.

Scripture is clear that those being granted ministry responsibilities have a high level of accountability (1 Timothy 3:1-7).  The stronger our Biblical Worldview, the greater our ability to fulfill our responsibilities in Christ's ministry!

How can I become a member of the True Hope Ministries Community?

Depending on your level of ministry, there are various ways to become a member …

  1. Associated Sponsorship:  Seasoned ministers having ministry credentials and who are in relationship with a current member, can be “sponsored” into THMA membership.
  2. Unassociated Application:  If you have ministry credentials but are not in relationship with a current member, you may apply for General Membership with the intent for Alliance Ministry Membership.
  3. New Minister Application: If you are new in ministry with no ministerial credentials, then you may apply for the Ordination Study Course.  As an ordained THMA minister, you will be a full ministry member.
  4. General Membership:  For those who are not in “formal” ministry yet you recognize that as a Christian you are a minister of Christ and you are engaged in non-formal ministry service ... you are invited to apply to become a General Member.

You may apply for a General Community Membership free, online by two steps ...

Financial Concerns

How much does it cost to be a member of True Hope Ministries of America?

General Community Membership is free to all applicants.

Alliance/Ministry Membership requires a one-time nominal application fee.

We do not require monthly dues or tithes - - please read the next question: What About Financial Requirements?

What about financial requirements?

THMA is a “member supported” ministry and therefore we rely upon the donations and contributions of our members to meet the financial needs of THMA.

Therefore ...

  • We ask that members do commit to contribute according to their actual financial ability.
  • Some members choose to give us tithes – but again, we don’t require this.
  • Some members choose to donate large monthly or annual amounts
  • Some members are not able to donate more than a small sum periodically.

Our only request is that you do contribute but only according to your true ability.

What happens with my financial support?

All donations and financial support is placed in the general funds and are used to meet the financial requirements of the various activities and services involved with THMA.

All directors are volunteers and are not paid a salary or wages.  The Senior Ministry Leader is provided a reasonable housing allowance approved annually by the THMA board of directors.

Again - please feel free to call with your questions about finances or any other aspect of True Hope Ministries of America.
